Christmas 2008!

We spent DJ's First Christmas in California with my family. We flew out to California on Dec 23rd and had a few minor airport issues. We were several hours late... but MADE it there on the day we were scheduled to! HOORAY

We stayed at my parent's house... where my mom had her bear cage all decorated like it was every year when we were growing up!

My mom doesn't put up a big tree anymore... but I love her three little trees!

We even had a white christmas!

After spending a few days at my parents... we then spent a few days at my sister Merrily's house in Elk Grove near Sacramento.

DJ's cousins Conner and Cayden got fishing poles... they tried fishing out in Merrily's pool! CUTE! :) It was nice to see everyone! DJ was a GREAT travel buddy again! :) MERRY CHRISTMAS!

We Made It to Texas!!

With the storm quickly approaching the Utah area... we wanted to get on the road and through the Spanish Fork Canyon before it was to hit at 3am... as we were pulling a boat & could've gotten stuck there for a few more days... and Don needed to get back to work as soon as possible in Dallas...

We got on the road at about 2am Friday night/Saturday morning, making it safely through the Spanish Fork Canyon as it started snowing... we slept for a few hours in Green River, Utah... then drove all day Saturday, staying in Albuqurque and drove all day Sunday, staying in Childress, Texas.

There is lots of pretty countryside to see... but man am I glad to be off the roads! :) We beat the weather the whole way here... BLESSINGS!

Amazing Don drove the whole way! Pulling the boat was smooth. DJ was a CHAMP! He was such a great road trip buddy! :) He slept a lot of the way or played with his toys. GOOD BOY!

DECEMBER IS HERE!

WELL... we are almost to the middle of December and I haven't posted in about month... so here's a quick update:

DJ is STILL wearing his bear cub suit... it's keeping him WARM in our CHILLY weather! :) He just had his 4 month check up and is just about 17 pounds and 27 inches... GROWING WELL! :) The arms on the bear suit barely pass his elbows... and we may have to cut the little feeties off. :) I hear that he is almost heavy enough for the next size car seat! NO... NOT YET!

Don has been coming home almost every weekend to help me get the Utah house projects wrapped up so that it is ready to rent out. With less than 3 days until we head out to The Big Texas, we are gettin' really close on those projects! :) The last bedroom downstairs got carpet this past Monday... YIPPEE!! We need to hang cieling trim wood in that bedroom, caulk nail holes, a few dabs of touch up paint, fix the deck railing, pull down all pictures, some cleaning and we are outta here!

Don comes home tonight, the packers come tomorrow, the truck & loaders come Friday! We head out to Texas on Saturday... hopin' the weather is good!! :)

Thanksgiving 2008

Don, DJ & I were supposed to go to Oregon for Thanksgiving... but since we had several house projects to finish before moving to Texas in just a few weeks... we needed to stay home to work on and finish those projects!

BONUS was that Lindsay, Keir and their kids came over to spend Thanksgiving with us...
We did play a little... but worked hard the whole weekend long!

Back to Dallas... Don Gets a House for his Birthday!

DJ & I went back to Dallas on Friday, November 14th... DON'S BIRTHDAY! We also signed the papers on our Texas house that weekend... on November 17th! We are so excited... and can't wait to get the keys!
We went to church today in our new ward... and the ward building was small... but there were MANY super nice people there that gave us a super warm welcome! :)
We are excited to be a part of our new church! Don will move into the house as soon as we get the utilities set up in our name...
DJ & I will move in when the movers bring our stuff from Utah in the middle of December! :)

To California for an Interview... :)

Here is DJ passed out after our flight from Utah to San Jose. We went for an interview I had with my company for an internal transfer position that I could do from home once we moved to Texas. The interview went really well, but the very next day... my company announced that a layoff was coming, so all internal transfer positions were cancelled! BUMMER!! :(
My Sister Katrina and nephews JC & Alex stayed with DJ & I in our hotel room and watched DJ while I was in my interview!

I also got to have dinner with several friends from my singles ward and old roommates!
I also got to have lunch with One, a co-worker of mine! It was a fun trip! :)
'Someone' is tired of meeting all of Mommy's friends from where she used to work in California... and wants some lunch... NOW! :)

Don drives to Texas in less in a day & a half!

Don came home to Utah on Halloween night... we worked around the house Saturday... and he loaded up my car to take it to Texas. This way Don wouldn't have to get a rental car in Texas anymore, we won't have to drive two cars out to Texas when we move in December... OR pay to put one of the cars on the moving truck...
DJ TRIED to go with Daddy... but Mommy said no. ;) Don left Utah Sunday morning and got to work in Texas by noon on Monday... the very next day! He was in Amarillo by mornin'. ;)

DJ's 1st Halloween!

DJ is just 3 months old... so we didn't take him out Trick or Treating! Don flew home from Texas to visit us that night, so DJ & I went to pick him up at the airport!

House Hunting in Dallas

Mommy & I flew on a big airplane to Dallas last week to see Daddy & to look for a new house. I was a really good boy on the plane! Mommy says that we looked at over 40 houses in 5 days... HOLY MOLY! I got tired of sitting in my car seat all day, every day... but tried my hardest to be a good boy! We got to see daddy's work too. He has lots of big trucks, HUGE piles of paper, fork lifts AND train tracks! Well, of the 40 or so houses that we looked at, mommy found ONE that she really liked. We had Daddy meet us out there after work to show it to him. Daddy likes it too, even though we can't have our chickens there. Mommy told Daddy that he can keep our chickens at our Utah house since we aren't selling it yet. :) There are tons of lakes over in Dallas and I can already hear Mommy & Daddy arguing over if we are going fishing or wakeboading.
