Misc February... and too much illness!

So February came and went so fast! Happy Valentines Day! :) We made pink TRUCK sugar cookies and delivered them to some of our friends... that was way fun! :) We also took some to daddy's work. :) Don brought home some pretty yellow roses... I'm the luckiest!

Callie's been getting around a lot! Climbing stairs, cleaning the floors as she moves along, LOVES to throw all the shoes off the shoe shelf. Yup... she's cracking herself up here.

SHE IS MOBILE.

She also has started riding the riding toys.... she still can't crawl on her knees yet, but prefers walking by holding your finger. She'll fuss until you give her your finger so she can walk. Silliness. My mom told me to just crawl around from now on. I have done it... but sure makes getting my chores done super difficult! ;)

As for the rest of the month... we hung out a lot with friends and then just hung out at home a lot, getting over being sick!

Callie was sick twice with different viruses! First she had RSV and next she got the Roseola virus. Both viruses came with an ear infection, different ears each time (that's a good thing I hear if you get two ear infections back to back). YUCKIE! Her temp got up to 104.7 with Roseola. It had me a bit worried so since Don was out of town, I lined up some friends to come stay with DJ while I took Callie to the ER. Luckily 5 minutes before I was going to take her to the hospital, her temp came down to 104.6. Not much, but movement in the right direction. So I decided to wait a little longer. 20 minutes later it was at 104.1. An hour later 103.9. When it got down to 103.2 I put her to bed and that was the last of that fever! The next day she broke out in a rash and the Dr said Roseola virus. The rash seemed to be a little itchy... but went away in two days.

Finally, DJ has these sneakers that have Lightening McQueen on them. I'll have you know that they make him run very fast. Then he has to stop so that his pit crew can change his tires... watch this!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee PART 2

DJ earned enough good behavior points to go to Peter Piper Pizza! So we went and Daddy and DJ earned lots of tickets... and rode a few rides. Callie kept saying weeeeeeee. She's growing up so fast!!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I've been bugging Don to get a play set for the backyard... they are just so expensive and we have to figure out what we are going to do. So interim, I saw this swing at Costco for $19 and bought it then I hung it up, INSIDE the house! Callie and DJ both love to swing in it... and Callie says weeeee while she's in it. :) If I ask her if she wants to swing... she'll say, "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!." Don thinks I'm crazy... :) I might be a little bit. ;)

I want to go to the museum...

Last summer some friends took DJ to the Ft Worth Museum with them and he asked to go back to the museum every day for a week after that! (he had never heard the word museum before then) So I got passes to the museum and DJ had a ball! They have several different areas for different ages... he is not old enough to understand some of the older children activities yet, but still enjoys going and looking around and playing.
They have a younger children's area where he can play with trains,
drive an ambulance, go grocery shopping,
shoot water guns, build water fountains, play computer games, get on a train, and more. He LOVES the trains...
I love the train tables... where you can crawl under to be in the middle of your train creations.
They also have a slide that is made of all recycled items... you can see DJ at the very top if you look close. We had fun and will be going back soon!

Ut Oh!

I was with Callie in the living room and had to go to the computer room for something real quick. I sat down at the desk for just a minute and I couldn't see Callie, but could hear her crawling closer to my direction... so I thought. A minute later, Callie started crying so I got up to see what was going on. It turns out that she took a turn before getting to where I was... and this is what I found. YIKES.

Will Run for Chocolate!!

A friend asked me if I wanted to run in the Hot Chocolate 5K in Dallas... hmmmm I have run (mostly WALKED) in a few 5K's before... running is not my favorite thing to do, nor can I do it very good. But, since I've been doing pretty good at exercising recently, I thought I might give it some serious thought when it involved CHOCOLATE! Yes folks... you get Ghiraradelli hot chocolate, fondue and individually wrapped chocolates after the race!

Hmmm... many people bailed on running this race because the temperatures took a steep dive the night before. (Texans are whimps in the cold!) The friend that asked me to run with her bailed too since she had been sick and the cold would've made running miserable for her. The announcer said that there were over 10,000 people signed up to run this.

Well off I went... and this was the first time I have ever run a 5K without walking at all. (pat on my back please!)

Anyhow, enough about that... that hot chocolate and fondue were amazing.... I'm definitely going to do this 5K again next year!

Callie's Pacifier Games

Callie thinks it is soooo funny when she puts things on her head and they fall off! She will giggle and giggle and giggle! I think it's amazing that she gets the pacifier to balance on her head. She is one CUTE girl! :)

Cleaning Out Callie's Closet

Callie has a ballet bar in her room... and someone gave me this darling ballerina swimsuit that has princesses and a tutu on it. I thought it would fit Callie this next summer, so I never tried it on and hung it on the hook next to her ballet bar. Well, it started looking really small, so I was going to pack it up. BUT before I did, I wanted a picture of Callie wearing it next to her ballet bar. HOLY MOLY that thing was so small! I'm sad that I didn't try it on her sooner! She probably could've worn this right from birth it is so small! Anyway, glad I got a picture of her in it at least! :)
