We stayed home for Christmas and enjoyed spending time with just the four of us! It is nice not traveling anywhere during a busy time, but we DID miss being with family too!Some of the favorite things from Christmas were this decoration DJ made at preschool... a reindeer out of his hands and foot! I LOVE THIS! :) ...and THANKS to DJ & Callie's grandparents, we got a play kitchen & table, a work bench, trains and tracks, a scooter, puzzles and more! We enjoyed going to church and then back home to play with our Christmas goodies. :) Merry Christmas to all our friends and family! :)
Since ALL THREE of my sisters have each had a child needing open heart surgery... I asked our pediatrician for a referral to a pediatric cardiologist to have their little hearts checked out! Well, they both did great! DJ's EKG was normal, blood pressure in hands and feet are all equal! yeay! Callie's blood pressure was all equal around her body, but she had a slight murmur. During Callie's EKG and echocardiogram, then they heard an 'extra sound' and saw a hole in her heart. The hole is normal in newborns and is usually closed up, but is also common for these holes to close later... to check it again in a year. For the 'extra sound', they sent us home with a heart harness for her to wear for 24 hours... we turned that back in and so far, no heart issues. HORRAY!
DJ has always loved sitting with Santa and since this was Callie's first time, we didn't know what to expect. Callie did GREAT just like her big brother! :) We weren't planning on doing a Santa picture that night. It had been a PJ kinda day, then last minute when Don came home from work, we decided to go drive through the Grand Prairie lights like we have every year. In the three previous years visiting these lights, we have NEVER caught Santa there... well, we did this time... Callie in her PJS! :) All in all... love this picture. :)
A new pre-lit Christmas tree means we need to install a new outlet to avoid extension cords going along the floor or over the stairs! DJ was right there helping Don! I'm so grateful for a smart husband that can do just about anything! :)
We took bum pictures of DJ when he was about 6 months old... and have a favorite that we hung up in our bathroom! We couldn't let Callie grow up with out one of her in our bathroom too! DJ is 6 months in his picture and Callie is 9 months old in hers.

DJ is the SWEETEST Big Brother ever! He is constantly loving on and wanting to play with Callie! He always asks for me to put her in her walker so they can 'ride bikes' together around in the house. He's always hugging and kissing on her. LOVES to sit in the rocking chair with her and sing 'rock a bye Callie'... SWEET BOY! Sometimes DJ can be a little bit rough, but Callie's getting big enough to hold her own! :) It's actually pretty funny to watch her take swings at or pinch DJ. We think it is funny now, probably not when she is older! :)
DJ also has a dear friend Liam... they love riding DJ's jeep in our back yard.
DJ has loved to be a big helper and push his own shopping cart around when we are getting groceries! He can also scan the items and put them in the bags! Thanks for being such an amazing helper DJ!
When Grandpa Kurtz came to visit us at Thanksgiving, we went to the park and a man was there fishing with his two daughters. He was so nice and let DJ reel a fish in! Way to go DJ!!
