DJ's 2nd Birthday Party

I bought an Elmo cake pan to make DJ's birthday cake since he LOVED Elmo. He always asks to wear his Elmo shirt and sit in his Elmo chair.
THEN, a few weeks ago, DJ got TOTALLY interested in CARS! I quickly returned the Elmo cake pan and happily ordered the Cars cake... YIPPEE... that I wasn't going to make the cake!

DJ's Two!

DJ's birthday started with 'Birthday Cereal"... :) I tried to get him to say 'almost two' again... but he was more interested in taking the camera from me...

Then we went to the waterslide park. DJ goes down the kid slides all by himself right after me... and I wait for him at the bottom. He comes down laughing the whole way. :) HE LOVES IT!
When Don got home from work and DJ woke up from his nap... they assembled a birthday present slide that Grandma Kurtz got for DJ when she was visiting. DJ loves it!

Almost Two!

When DJ and I go out to the store or to eat... or where ever... people have been asking a lot... how old he is. My response is "Almost Two"... So one night DJ was talking about his upcoming birthday party... (he has been to a few and had his own 1st birthday party... but I'm sure he doesn't understand the whole thing very well yet...) But I asked him, "How old are you... something we haven't done with him yet, but he spouts out... "ALMOST TWO!" LOL

DJ was slithering around on the carpet while we were watching TV... saying: "swimmin', swimmin'..." I had to get a video of it. HE LOVES SWIMMING! :)

DJ's First Salon Haircut

Don usually cuts DJ's hair at home... but today Don needed to go get a haircut so DJ & I went along... so that DJ could also get a much needed haircut. (See how long it is in the back!)
I didn't know how DJ would be... but he actually did really well! (THANKS to the Tootsie Pops! :)

Bath Time AGAIN! :)

Can you ever see too many pictures of your kids taking baths...???
I guess there does come a point when the answer to that question is YES!
...but it's been a while and I saw these in my pictures and thought they must go in the blog! ...so here they are! :)
These were taken right after he went swimming in rain water in the lid of his sandbox! :)

DJ is a FISH!

DJ LOVES the water! Last year we took him swimming a few times, but he wasn't walking yet and wasn't quite big enough to do anything. He has always loved baths and water... but now we are starting to see JUST HOW MUCH he loves the water! There was a lady nearby with a soda that DJ kept trying to go get... this is the hesitation for DJ to not jump in the water the 2nd time! LOL
We got DJ a set of arm floaties and a vest... and he runs for the water without us! As soon as he gets in the water... he starts cracking up like someone told him a joke! He will even push us away from us, spin around, and is already learning to move his arms and legs to go places in the water!

The other day, we had a storm... it was raining really hard... once the rain calmed down a bit, I took DJ outside to go for a walk in the puddles. He LOVED it. We had been out a while, so I said we needed to go inside...

DJ had a fit! So I let him go in the backyard to play in the rain some more... the next thing I know... is DJ is 'swimming' in rain water that had collected in the lid of his sand box IN HIS CLOTHES! We keep the lid up-side down with a bag of sand on it so it doesn't blow away when it gets windy!

He went round and round that sand bag saying... "SWIMMIN'"! LOL

The next day... we went to our favorite place at the lake to feed the fishies and duckies... and DJ was so mad at us because we kept saying no to him after he'd say: "Off" (to take his shirt off).. and then "Swimming" & "Pool" (to jump in that duck & fish lake water!) He just did not understand. It quickly became easier to just leave! LOL
