Summer Fun!

Over here in HOT Texas summer... we do a LOT of things that have to do with water! Swimming, go to the water slide park, slip n sliding, sprinkler parks and more of all of the above all over again. :)
The picture of DJ looking out the window was after playing in the blow up pool... he had so much fun that he stood there looking out at it... he was sad to come inside, but it was getting dark out there and I was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes!
DJ is talking so much these days, we still can't understand a few things he says, which just might be baby talk when he doesn't want to communicate, but for the most part he does pretty good and it makes me laugh when he says certain things... like asking me what time is it (making sure that it's not "nap-TIME"! teehee) If I say, time to eat lunch or time to go to the store, he keeps asking me over and over again until I tell him THE TIME... so fine, knowing that he doesn't know what time means... I tell him anyway and he repeats me, "twelve-thirty" or "one o' clock" then he FINALLY stops asking me what time it is... FUNNY KID! It's neat to see his little brain in action, he does a really good job at copying exact enunciations and pronunciations... he keeps me on my toes!

Here are a few more pictures of Callie and DJ... they are growing so fast!! Callie enjoys tummy time, unlike DJ when he was her age. (her head takes a lot less effort to lift up!) ;) Callie LOVES DJ so much... she's a sensitive and jumpy little girl, loud things (like the old man sneezing in church) scare her, make her lower lip stick out super far, quiver and then she cries... but no matter how loud DJ is, he makes her smile! When he runs from one end of the room to the other singing Toy Story's "You got a friend in me" at the top of his lungs, Callie follows DJ back and forth... he always can make her smile... it's the sweetest thing to watch. DJ loves Callie back... is always trying to give her hugs and kisses. Lately, he's been wanting to pick her up and hold her... and even though he's wearing size 4T clothes at the age of TWO (for two more weeks) he's still too small to pick Callie up. :) Oh it is so much fun to be the mommy of these two! I love them so much to pieces! :)

Hangin' Out

Most everyone says that Callie looks just like DJ, just petite... well, one day I turn around to see that DJ had put on Callie's bow... before busting out laughing so hard, I had to get a picture! ...so in case you were wondering, this is what Callie will look like in 2.5 years!

Eight Weeks Old and Walking!

To the POOL!

We were the only people at the pool today, probably because the water is still cold or maybe because it is a Friday and school hasn't gotten out yet! ...or maybe because we are having thunderstorm and tornado warnings!!?? Well, we were hot and wanted to go, so we did. As long as there is no lightening we are fine! DJ LOVED swimming for his first time this year! He didn't care about the cold water! Callie slept in her car seat for most of the time... then screamed when I put her toes in... oh she better like the water!! :) Can't wait for it to warm up! :)

Day Two at Disneyland

We spent day two at California Adventure and LOVED IT! California Adventure seems to be a lot more fun these days than I remember it being before. They are doing a lot of construction there, building a "Cars" area that should be really neat! DJ got to see Sully from Montser's Inc... he was hesitant to look at Sully for the picture, but watches that movie over and over! We also went on the Monsters Inc ride which he loved! We then saw Handy Manny but the line to get a picture with him was too long. So I took one of DJ & Don behind Handy Manny hehe! At the front where the new Cars area will be, they had Mater and Lightening McQueen... of course DJ LOVED to see them! We then spent a good amount of time in Bugs Land where we went on the caterpillar train ride, the bumper cars and flying rice box cars... then one picture of Callie and I on that ride... PROOF that we were there too. :) That night we saw the new Colors water and light show... that was really neat! We had a blast with my parents, my sister Merrily and her family there too. Even though DJ seemed a little apprehensive at times and wanting to stay in the stroller a lot (totally out of character for him since he's a runner!) he has said many times since we've been home that he wants to go on an airplane... we ask him where does he want the airplane to take him... and he says, "the beach and Disneyland" I think he has his priorities straight! :) Can't wait to go back!

Callie and DJ's 1st Trip to DISNEYLAND!

Overall... our first day at Disneyland was fun even though it ended out in the pits. DJ enjoyed the rides and Toon Town... but just after 2 hours at the happiest place on Earth, I thought something wasn't right when DJ fell asleep in the stroller! He has NEVER done that but maybe once when he was much younger. We had to wake him up for the Nemo ride. He didn't want to shoot the gun on the Buzz Light Year ride!!?? Then he got super cold & was shivering, so we put Callie's blanket on him... it was about 80 degrees! I was nervous! We cut our day short and went back to our hotel... DJ got worse by the minute. His temperature climbed up to 103.3. Don went out to get dinner and medicine... we worried about him as we changed him out of one sweaty shirt after the other through the night, wondering if it was heat stroke or just a bug..?? I'm thinking it was a bug since it wasn't that hot outside! The next day when DJ was up and about... driving us nuts by getting into everything, we headed back to Disneyland!

Hotel Fun in LA

We had one day to hang out in Anaheim before going to Disneyland... so we walked around Anaheim Gardens and ate yummy food! Callie rode in the front pack on me for most of that time... DJ got tired of walking, Don got tired of carrying DJ... so DJ rode in Callie's carseat/stroller... LOL

Mother's Day in Morro Bay California!

It had been several years since Don had seen his Grandma Dorothy. DJ, Callie and I had never met her, so we planned a trip to Morro Bay, California to go meet her! Our trip happened to fall on Mothers Day Weekend, so a lot of family came! Grandma Judy, Lee, Uncle Jimmy and Auntie Janie came from Oregon, Don's Aunts and cousins came from Northern California, and Don's uncle came from Arizona! Our first night there, we ate dinner at this super yummy seafood restaurant right overlooking the ocean. Beautiful! :) Grandma Judy took DJ to see the aquarium.
We played with family at the beach overlooking Morro Rock. DJ loved running around in Grandma Dorothy's backyard... and there was so much yummy food!
