Silliness!

Super Callie
Mary Poppins could fly with her magical umbrella... well just wait til you see what Super Callie can do! j/k but I turn my head and Don has put Callie's bloomers from a dress over her jammies and wa-lah... she's a superhero.

These glasses entertained the kids for several days after first winning them at Peter Piper Pizza!

Our dear friend who the kids call Grandma Glo volunteers at the local Scholastic Book warehouse distribution center and she gets Scholastic Bucks to spend on books and other items there... well, DJ chose this AWESOME rescue helicoptor! It's really neat!

Grandma Glo also gave us this trampoline... we are SO BLESSED to have her in our life!!!!

Callie dropped DJ's iPod and the screen broke... :( But never fear! Daddy replaced it with a part from amazon.com for only $10! Hooray Daddy!!

We went to Dave and Busters because we won a free dinner or game credits... so we went there to eat and play one night. :) It was so fun. Here are DJ, Daddy and Callie racing cars!

Craft Night: Apothecary Jars!

A few friends... well, about 25 friends came over to do this craft night! :) It was so fun! I bought all the pieces online and from the FABULOUSE Hobby Lobby... then we got together to put them together!

With the help of my friend Cynthia... we pre-glued a few parts so that they would be super dry by the night of the activity when we were painting them. :)

Several got enough letters to change them for different holidays throughout the year... JOY, HOP, USA, BOO, etc... you can fill them with colored candies/chocolates for the different holidays too. SO FUN! :)

Here they are finished! :)

Still Sick

DJ had gotten sick and I knew something wasn't right when he falls asleep in the car after the Dr appointment within 5 minutes of leaving on our way to get a chest x-ray... see the sucker on the seat next to his car seat!!?? ummmm THAT never happens! On any other day, that sucker would've been eaten before getting in the car from leaving the dr's office!

We went to get chest x-rays to rule out any lung infection... clear lungs... no answers to what is getting DJ so sick. :(

DJ was on steroids and supposed to do breathing treatments to get rid of the croupy cough and breathe better. Daddy and DJ would play games on the iPad to make the breathing treatments more bearable.

We had all sorts of medications to take... I think Callie also developed a fever, so she was taking stuff too... DANG!

After a week of a fever and no answers... the Dr said, we need to draw blood to rule out anything serious... so this picture shows how you get blood out of a 3 year old... TIE THEM DOWN! I must say, although so hard to see your child go through this... it was the BEST way to do it because they are still. The poke hurts... BUT if he wasn't tied down and jumped, they wouldn't be able to find a vein, try again & again, crying, flailing about, it COULD'VE been a nightmare. I am greatful for this contraption to hold him still. DJ thought it was all great fun getting all wrapped up like a mummy until the needle poke. He did GREAT and no bad memories of a terrible experience except the poke... again, it could've been a nightmare! Soooo after all that, his temperature happen to go away the very next day. A few days after that, DJ's blood tests came back NORMAL!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!

Mother's Day 2012

Don and I have always enjoyed eating a certain Indian dish called Butter Chicken with the Indian bread called naan. We went an got it yesterday so that we could enjoy it at home on Mother's Day. It was sooo yummy! Don cleaned, did the dishes, made lunch and dinner. He also made chocolate chip cookies the night before that were very yummy. DJ and Callie got me a darling card with a dancing squirrel in it. :) There were beautiful fresh cut flowers from my Mother's Day Rose bush from last year. I am also going to enjoy the gift certificate for a pedicure! Thanks Don for being an awesome husband who has gone way above and beyond for me... did I mention that he has been on all-night duty for administering medications to both of our sick kiddos the last several days. I am ONE LUCKY GIRL!
I was able to speak to my mom today. What an amazing woman. I am lucky to have her for my mother and hope to be like her when I grow up! Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day Card Pictures

Oh, how Callie LOVES her hat. Hat was definitely on the list of her first words!

DJ and his hat.

I wanted to get some pictures of the kids to put in Mother's Day cards to my mom and Don's mom... so here we go again... trying to get GOOD pictures of the kids... this one of DJ turned out FANTASTIC... why!? Because, 1. he's looking at the camera, 2. he's smiling (?) and 3. He's holding STILL! SUCCESS! teehee One thing, we are missing Callie... where's Callie??? She's practicing her new tricks of walking around everywhere.

DJ was trying to be a great helper by holding Callie down... because she kept trying to walk away... but he covered up the Happy Mother's Day sign... neither of the kids are looking at the camera. NEXT...

Take 300. Both kids present? check. smiles? well, one of them is. Bow still on Callie's head? yes! Only thing(S) wrong... are Callie's getting up to walk away and not looking at the camera or smiling... SIGH Come on Callie Girl!

One LAST try... and this is the one we are using! Both kids present? CHECK! Both kids looking at the camera? CHECK! Both kids smiling? Uh, I think so. Where's Callie's bow? We didn't want it for this one did we!!?? I love these two babies of mine! They are so adorable and patient to put up with all my photo-taking shenanagins.

We thought the Grapevine Aquarium was really neat... and so did about 30 school bus loads of kids. Needless to say, it was NOT a good day to visit the aquarium. So I only got ONE picture here. DJ did enjoy it though!

Lego Land was right next door, so we got a double pass to see both places. Here's DJ on a lego motorcycle.

Trying to get DJ to smile "normal" for the camera is always a battle! How I define 'normal' is that he is at least looking at the camera and holding STILL so he's not blurry! Well... he's trying really hard here to look at me, be still and smile... but what is stealing his attention from his favorite mother of all time!??

Ahhhhhh... here's our answer, a Storm Trooper on Star Wars Day! DJ has never seen Star Wars before (poor kid) so he has no idea who this guy is and is super freaked out by him.

OK, now there's the smile I'm looking for!

At Lego Land, they had a room full of iconic landmarks for the DFW area, including the airport... complete with Star Wars action figures and spaceships.

Downtown Dallas at night.

Texas Rangers Ball Park.

Southfork Ranch as seen on the TV series Dallas.

The incredibly awesome Gaylord Texan.

Great Wolf Lodge.

Fort Worth Stock Yards.

Cowboy's stadium in Arlington.

DJ and Brayden with Darth Vader.
