To California for an Interview... :)

Here is DJ passed out after our flight from Utah to San Jose. We went for an interview I had with my company for an internal transfer position that I could do from home once we moved to Texas. The interview went really well, but the very next day... my company announced that a layoff was coming, so all internal transfer positions were cancelled! BUMMER!! :(
My Sister Katrina and nephews JC & Alex stayed with DJ & I in our hotel room and watched DJ while I was in my interview!

I also got to have dinner with several friends from my singles ward and old roommates!
I also got to have lunch with One, a co-worker of mine! It was a fun trip! :)
'Someone' is tired of meeting all of Mommy's friends from where she used to work in California... and wants some lunch... NOW! :)

Don drives to Texas in less in a day & a half!

Don came home to Utah on Halloween night... we worked around the house Saturday... and he loaded up my car to take it to Texas. This way Don wouldn't have to get a rental car in Texas anymore, we won't have to drive two cars out to Texas when we move in December... OR pay to put one of the cars on the moving truck...
DJ TRIED to go with Daddy... but Mommy said no. ;) Don left Utah Sunday morning and got to work in Texas by noon on Monday... the very next day! He was in Amarillo by mornin'. ;)

DJ's 1st Halloween!

DJ is just 3 months old... so we didn't take him out Trick or Treating! Don flew home from Texas to visit us that night, so DJ & I went to pick him up at the airport!

House Hunting in Dallas

Mommy & I flew on a big airplane to Dallas last week to see Daddy & to look for a new house. I was a really good boy on the plane! Mommy says that we looked at over 40 houses in 5 days... HOLY MOLY! I got tired of sitting in my car seat all day, every day... but tried my hardest to be a good boy! We got to see daddy's work too. He has lots of big trucks, HUGE piles of paper, fork lifts AND train tracks! Well, of the 40 or so houses that we looked at, mommy found ONE that she really liked. We had Daddy meet us out there after work to show it to him. Daddy likes it too, even though we can't have our chickens there. Mommy told Daddy that he can keep our chickens at our Utah house since we aren't selling it yet. :) There are tons of lakes over in Dallas and I can already hear Mommy & Daddy arguing over if we are going fishing or wakeboading. Don Starts a New Job in Dallas!

Before Don & I got married... he moved out to Utah from Cali to take a job in home construction. He really enjoyed it and learned a lot! Unfortunately with the housing market slowing down, they didn't have enough work to keep him busy & had to lay him off earlier this year. While Don looked for a new job, he has been able to work on and has completed so many of our house projects, that our fixer-upper house is almost done! Then the baby came... then Don got a job offer! Don & I were able to spend about two months at home together with the new baby before he started his new job. Everything happens for a reason! :) Don's new job is in Dallas, Texas... and he is a General Manager for a paper recycling plant. It is going great so far! :)

DJ's Blessing

We were blessed to have some of our family join us on the day of DJ's blessing... here are some pictures... Don gave a BEAUTIFUL blessing... and the part that got me the most... was when Don said that his name was very special and Grandpa Donald Lester Kurtz I was watching down over DJ... so sweet! :)

Baby DJ Arrived! :)

On Tuesday, July 29th... we went to my 38 week Dr appointment. The Dr. did an ultrasound since my tummy was measuring the size of twins! I measured 42 weeks when I was only 38! The Dr. said he was going to induce me. We went to the hospital early the next morning and they started to induce me. Don & I played card games, dice games, etc... while we waited for DJ to come. DJ finally came at 11:00pm on Wednesday, July 30th! He weighed 9 lbs 9 oz and was 21 inches long. :) Everything went smoothly and we brought DJ home on Friday, Aug 2nd. DJ has my big cheeks and Don's toes. :)
