Callie's First Solids!

ALREADY!!!??? I don't think we started DJ on solids until he was 6 months old, but today at Callie's 4 month Dr appointment, the doctor said to start Callie on solids, so we did! Callie LOVED eating!!

Callie's First Ice Cream and Eli's Blessing

I got an ice cream cone at McDonald's on our road trip down to Baby Eli's blessing in San Antonio... and Ms. Callie (just turned 4 months old) grabbed it away from me so fast and had a good grip on it (BY HERSELF!) She screamed when I took it away from her! Sheesh, don't mess with this girl and her ice cream! :)

"Happy Bird-Day to ME!"

So our 'little' DJ turned 3 years old this past Saturday, July 30th. I have had so much fun with this little boy... well, he's not so little... he's been wearing 4T clothes for the past several months! He has such a happy, energenic, friendly, loving personality that is so much fun. He said hi to this old man working at the water slide park we go to... asks him. "How you doin'?" As I run after him... PLEASE STAY WITH MOMMY DJ! He has no strangers, which is nice that he is so friendly, but this also means that he is OK to leave me to go explore... fine if you are older... but he just turned 3... so that means he was just barely 2! tee hee. So he wanted Lightening McQueen on his birthday cake again this year... so that is what he got! :) (even though he's had plenty of time-outs to probably lose any birthday party privledges!) This sweet, nice boy... also likes to push/challenge boundaries all the time and is very familiar with the 'Time-Out Corner'! We had a party with a few friends, we watched a movie, played on the slip n slide and a little blow up pool, did a pinata, had pizza and cake. It was fun. DJ LOVES the Happy Birthday song... he sang it to himself and said 'bird-day' instead of birthday. When the candy came falling out of the pinata, the kids had buckets to collect the candy to take home... well all that mattered to DJ was to grab a piece, and he went to the Time-Out corner to sneak a bite... too funny! (I guess you can see that 1. he LOVES candy, 2. I don't let him have it much so he feels he has to sneak it, 3. he doesn't understand the concept of the bucket... because had he collected more candy in the bucket... he would've had more to eat later!) He LOVES CARS... and loved all of his presents! As you can see by the very last picture where he is all decked out with the Lightening McQueen back pack full of cars, the Lightening McQueen roller suit case and Lightening McQueen folding pillow under his arm. :) I LOVE this little boy! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DJ!!

I just LOVE these two... I feel so blessed to be their Mommy! :) DJ is so funny and it is exciting to see him learning so much every day. Callie makes me smile when she smiles... which is quite often! At every doctor appointment when I was pregnant with Callie, the nurse would tell me after listening to her heart beat... "This is one happy baby!" And they were right. This smiley baby girl is so sweet and so much fun! (P.S. ...don't tell me if the dr tells everyone this about their babies, I want to live in my own little world! teehee) ;)

But if you must... I'll make up something... ummm Don was making the MOST of his quality Saturday time with DJ... and making the BEST out of still having to change diapers on this boy! Come on... laugh with us! :) I was not around when this took place, but did laugh pretty hard when I saw this!

Photo Shoot in Blessing Dress

I wanted to get a few pictures of Callie in her blessing dress, but since things were really busy right after church on the day of her blessing, I didn't get to take pictures then... so we got her back in the beautiful dress to take some.
As soon as I laid the blanket down on the floor with Callie on top, DJ came right over to be a part of the action. I LOVE THAT BOY! He makes me laugh... and it makes me happy to see him so interested in his little baby sister. This blessing dress was the same one my sisters and I wore when we were blessed MANY years ago. My niece Allie Grace who is DJ's age was also blessed in it. It is an amazing dress! There is so much beautiful detail work on it! I think it is so neat that my mom has kept it for all these years. For many years, it hung up on the wall in her house in a frame with glass on it... I hope we can hold onto this for many years to come! I love these pictures.... love their toes together... Callie always loves being near her big brother, he makes her smile... A LOT! Callie has also learned how to spit... ppppbbbbbllllltttt She's sooooo much FUN! As my sister Lindsay said, "I could freeze this age!" I could too. It is such a FUN age!

4th of July

We drove just down the street from our house to the Field of Dreams softball complex where they did a fireworks show. It was pretty neat and we were pretty close to the fireworks!
