The next day... we had a bridal shower planned for Brianne! Jenny did all the decorating...

Then we had a girls night out of course... this is the bathroom that we got ready in!
We ate a yummy dinner at a restaurant in our hotel... the Venetian!
Walked around...
Then went dancing... FUN TIMES!
This place is owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and run by their missionaries. It has a few swimming areas formed by hot springs.
This area has a beautiful lush group of palm trees out in the middle of this dessert area that line the swimming areas and road into this beautiful place!
There was another group of people swimming there with us... but I wanted to get pictures of how pretty it is!
Unfortunately... yesterday (July 1st, 2010) a fire broke out and destroyed this beautiful oasis. I read that a wood chipper caused a spark that started the fire. Several nearby houses were destroyed and the buildings on the LDS Warm Springs property were destroyed as well as the palm trees. SAD! SAD! SAD! :(
We were so lucky to get to go to our local Fire Station to talk to the firemen and see inside their firehouse AND we got to see their FIRE TRUCKS!
DJ was so excited to go see the trucks... but we had to wait until everyone arrived before we could start our tour!

and DJ leaned toward the fireman, saying "HUG"... the nice fireman took DJ in his arms and said... this little boy just made my day... I didn't think that I'd get a hug from anyone today!

After... we went to McDonalds for lunch! DJ loves climbing...

We went to the Wildseed Farm near the town of Fredericks- berg. They have a huge variety of flowers to look at and you can buy the seeds of all these flowers!
They also have some darling cats walking around and yummy ice cream!
They have a butterfly house where you can walk through... and the butterflies land on you. They are really pretty! Then, of course they have caterpillars...
DJ loved it when the nice worker brought a butterfly up close for him to see!
Since it was Blue Bonnet Season here in Texas... we OF COURSE had to try to get a few pictures of DJ with them... the first picture didn't work so well...
but then we did get this nice one! Don pointed out to us later that DJ was holding on to an electric fence... ooops! Guess it was turned off! :)

We had breakfast at the Gunther House! It is a beautiful old house that has been converted into a restaurant and gift shop.
We went upstairs to one of the dining halls... so pretty!
The Gunther House uses products from this mill next door.
From the Gunther House... we down some stairs... 
to go on a walk along the river...
It was really pretty down there!

We then walked along some of the streets that are lined with really old houses... pretty!

DJ was too little to enjoy it last time we went... he LOVED it this time!

The San Antonio River runs right through town...
It is really neat to see businesses, city offices, restaurants and people walking along!
There are restaurants along the river where you can eat on the water's edge!
Later that night at our hotel... DJ LOVED riding on the luggage cart... he'd say "WEEE!"
DJ was so super sad when we had to hang up after talking to Daddy!
