We're Expecting!!

YES!!! ...I am pregnant and our little one will join us around 08/08/08! ...and our Dr. is "pretty sure" it's a BOY! :)

Don & Tiff

Back in the fall of 2001... I was living with my dear friend Merridon in our little Santa Clara, CA apartment... when she had invited a few friends over for games & movies... Don was included in that group of friends. Don had his eye on a girl... and I was dating someone... in spite of all this, I knew there was something awesome about Don. Several years later, Merridon said to me: You should go out with Don... six months later, Don & I started hanging out... six months after that we were dating only each other... a year after that, on September 23, 2006 we were married! OXOX :) Merridon took our engagement pictures... and we will ever be grateful to her for introducing us! :) Shortly after getting married, we purchased an old farm house in South Jordan, Utah.

Chickens

We brought home 14 baby chicks last spring... who would've know they'd be soo much fun! We held them and hand fed them a lot when they were babies. At first, we built them a little coop in the shop downstairs with a heat lamp in it... they were so cute to watch! (sleep, eat, sleep, eat, etc...) Around the same time that the weather warmed up outside, they were big enough to be let out during the day... they would pile up by the fence as it got dark waiting to come in at night... then file in to the shop and hop up into their coop. Around Father's Day last June, they were big enough to stay outside all day AND all night. They started laying eggs shortly after that. Depending on the type of chicken, we get white, tan, brown, pink & green colored eggs... all the same on the inside... just the shells are different colors. They are so sweet and love their daddy! Everytime Don opens the door to go outside... all 14 of them come running from all corners of the yard at FULL SPEED to meet him. (Of course they want food... and they will eat just about anything!) They LOVE spaghetti! We built them a house in the back of our yard... and they insisted on sleeping in the trees instead of their awesome house! But with the cold and snow, they spend all dark hours INSIDE their house! 13 of them have grown into beautiful hens, laying tons of eggs... and the last one turned out to be a beautiful rooster! We'd like to enter him into the County Fair Beauty Contest next year! FRESH EGGS ANYONE??

Kitchen Remodel

This kitchen is completely different now... and we love it! We had a small space to work with, but are happy with the outcome! We converted the old walled-in pantry into cabinet-style pantry, adding a lot more space to the actual pantry and it matches the rest of the cabinets. We removed the cieling soffiets, opening up the room and giving more upwards cabinet space... and also did the different cabinet heights! :) We added lighting under & in the cabinets... removed the cieling fixture and installed canned lights. LOVE THEM! :) We are HAPPY to not have to cook on a hotplate in the livingroom anymore! :)

Upstairs Bath

The upstairs bath had a tiny SINGLE vanity... the toilet was in the middle of the room... and the shower was removed and replaced by a HUGE jacuzzi tub.... taking up more than 75% of the bathroom... should we remove it or keep it? We decided to keep it. We moved the toilet down to make room for a double vanity, plummed for two sinks, added a large mirror, framed it with oak flooring trim pieces, added lighting and built a linen closet behind the door that is accessable from the hallway. :) We still have to plum for a shower... as we currently have a shower head on a hose connected to the tub faucet... lol IT WORKS for now! :)

Master bedroom

Our house had oak hardwood flooring throughout... but it had all been ripped out except in the 2 upstairs bedrooms. This wood flooring was in terrible condition in which we wouldn't even walk on it barefoot in fear of getting splinters or jabbed by a nail sticking up! It is AMAZING how good this floor looks now after being refinished! We added cedar panels to the closet walls, closet organizers, mirrored closet doors, base boards, crown molding, a fresh coat of paint, ceiling light fan & hung a few pictures... and wa la'! :)
