My Baby Shower!

Boy oh boy do I ever feel blessed! I have wonderful friends that gave me an amazing baby shower! SPOILED rotten in fact! :)
There was so much yummy food, it was amazing! After that baby shower of pink and green to match Callie's room... I started doubting if the ultrasound technitioin got the gender right on this baby in my tummy! Is she is really a girl!!??
The room is painted, all the girly quilts have been sewn, all the girl clothes I received at my shower... I'm TOAST if she's not a girl!
When I got home from the shower, I kept bringing in more and more bags of gifts from the shower, Don said... there's more!?? :) We are so greatful for all the thoughtfulness and CUTE things we got! We are so blessed! THANK YOU!
Another blessing I have been showered with is to live near and have so many talented friends that like to make blankets and quilts! Callie got some DARLING quilts!!! Check these out! I tell you... we are so BLESSED! THANK YOU GIRLS for your friendship and WONDERFUL SHOWER! You are all so talented!

Happy Valentines Day!

I love valentines day... a lot of people say that they dislike it because it is too commercialized, but what holiday isn't? I will always love a day where you can show appreciation to your Sweethearts! :) Don gave DJ and I some goodies and we got him some goodies too. Then we went to one of our favorite places to eat for dinner, Costa Vida... YUM! :)

DJ the Dare Devil

I was passing by the stairs one morning when I saw DJ attempting to scale the top of the stair railing! It is just a foot or two drop to the stairs below... but a whole lot more stairs to roll down till you reach the bottom if he were to fall. My first gut reaction was to say NO to him and to stop him... but WHAT IF I'm not around and he tries this?? I had to let him do it to see that he CAN do it and to hopefully get it out of his system. ...and when I say no to this child, he often times does the exact opposite! This is something that I totally would've done when I was a kid! DJ did this a few times, but hasn't in a while. Hopefully he got it out of his system. :)

Ice and Snow Storm

When we get snow/ice here in Texas... life pretty much shuts down because there is little to no resources to treat the conditions and people don't know how to drive in it. Schools close, which is a very good thing to keep all those kids off the roads. It gets pretty bad. Strange to think that in Tahoe or Utah or Colorado, etc... places that get feet and feet of snow, is just a normal day... but here, it cripples us..?? Here are pictures of a bus Don saw stranded on his way to work... look, barely any snow... but lots of ice.
Here is a little car that stopped on the freeway and pulled out in front of one of Don's truck drivers... DUH!??
Here are some fun pictures of DJ playing in our whole 2 inches of snow! teehee Don bundled him up and put plastic grocery bags over his shoes to keep from getting wet. DJ had so much fun he cried and cried when we brought him inside. Thanks to all DJ's warm Colorado hand me down clothes, he stayed toasty while Don and I froze. :) hehe

DJ Riding his "Motorcycle"

DJ got his bike from Grammie for Christmas... and he calls it his 'motorcycle'... since he always sees my dirt bike (motorcycle) in the garage... this is "DJ's motorcycle". :) Poor kid hasn't been able to ride it much with me being pregnant and unable to keep up or lean over to help him along very well. But he is getting better! He rode all the way to our park one day... just ran over my toes a few times. :) Hey, I'm just happy he didn't get off it and run away... which is typical DJ behavior! :)

A Tribute to my Hero, Conner!

My sister Lindsay and her husband have 3 children... their oldest, Conner underwent open heart surgery yesterday in Boston where they live. As scary as it is... and even though I have faith that Conner is in the BEST medical hands possible with Heavenly Father watching over this sweet boy... I've been balling my eyes out for the last 36 hours hoping that everything will be OK and wishing I could do something... if at all to just be there with them. I just want to say that I am so impressed with the strength of my sister Lindsay and her husband Keir... they are amazing... and Conner is being a good brave little boy as he is coming out of sedation after a very successful surgery to correct a problem in his heart. They are all heros to me! I love you guys!
Here is Conner enjoying a popsicle after surgery before he could eat solid foods. :) POPSICLE PARTY as my mom said when she had her own hopsital stay a few years back. :)
