"Daddy in Cago!"

DJ is learning to say so many things these days... it is so fun to hear him repeat words and put words together. Some things he says are:

'Ma-Ma-Ma-Melon' (Watermelon)

Fuff-Fuff for Doggie, because that's (ruff-ruff) what a dog says!

Anything in the sippy cup is 'wa-wa'...

'Chocolate Milk' is a very important phrase!

Ever since we went through the drive through car wash... DJ has been concerned that our cars are clean... so he says 'car wash' and 'a-keen' a lot!

Don had to go to Chicago for work for a few days... and DJ kept asking me: "Da-da work?" So I said, "Daddy is in Chicago." The next thing I know... DJ is saying over and over, "Daddy Cago?" I had to take a video of it and sent it to Don! I soo love this stage DJ is in right now! I've loved all the stages I guess... being a mommy is the best!

Girls Camp 2010!

So... this was the first time I had been to Girls Camp since I was a Young Woman in 1992! That was 18 (EIGHTEEN) years ago! I have VERY fond memories from when I went to Girls Camp... and was really excited to share this with my girls this year as their leader!
We did cook-outs over fire... including hot dogs, smores, cakes, cookies, pizzas and banana boats!
Skits! (two of my girls were Stake Youth Camp Leaders!)
More skits!
Even more skits!
Then of course... we learned about First Aid!
We went on hikes... and got side-tracked while doing so...
We went
canoeing!
Some of us went fishing!
Cheesy Leaders! This is the amazing Stake Camp Director..... GREAT JOB SUSAN!!
We had some crazy 'friends' there... holy moly, thank heavens for our enclosed and air-conditioned cabins! (no whining about the A/C... we need that here in The Big Hot Texas!)
I was a level leader for one of the groups... and they had a service project to do to complete their level... and our project was to install a flag pole! Our girls dug a hole in the heat and sun... then we poured concrete...
That night, we were able to hang our Virtue Flag on the pole we installed. Virtue is our newest Young Women Value!

Girls Camp takes a lot of work... and we are so grateful for all the effort that goes into it! We ended the week of camp with a WONDERFUL testimony meeting, where all the girls got to share their testimonies of Jesus Christ and the many other things that make their lives so full of happiness and joy! XOXO Til next year!

Grandma Kurtz Visits Us!

We were soo excited and LUCKY to have Grandma Kurtz come for a visit!
This was her first time to come see us at our Texas house! YIPPEE! :) We went out to eat, shopping, visited family and hung out!
DJ showed her how he can get around in Mommy's shoes!
While Grandma Kurtz was visiting... we went to visit Aunt Peggy and her family! Here is Grandma Kurtz with Aunt Peggy!
Aunt Peggy has a beautiful house with a gorgeous yard!
They had lots of land to explore... including chickens and quads!
DJ's cousins took him for a ride!
Then Don took DJ for a ride! That sure was fun... and GREAT to visit with family!

NEXT STOP... The Gaylord Texan! Grandma Kurtz had a conference for work that she had to attend there, so we dropped her off and visited her while she was there!
They had it all decorated with the Alice in Wonderland theme! It was super neat!
Here is the rabbit!
...and the caterpillar!
A train set...
A life-size chess set!
Most of the rooms faced in towards the beautiful atrium.
Here is a Texas Longhorn!
Here is a replica of the San Antonio River Walk!
Grandma Kurtz got this cowboy, sheriff hat for DJ... he loves the lights on it... :) Thanks!!

THANKS FOR VISITING US GRANDMA KURTZ! WE LOVE YOU!

A Few Random Things....

With Spring-time came a lot of babie animals! We had 2 baby doves... this one was perching on our window sil by our front door. Pretty bird!
We also had several butterflies flying around and landing on us!
One day, I had my hands-free device on the desk trying to sync it to my cell phone... and DJ picked it up... I put it on him... then he immediately ran to go ride his giraffe bike with his hands-free on! LOL
DJ was running so fast through the front hallway because I was chasing him to the living room... then he looked back at me... then he tripped and fell face-first on to the hardwood floors. :( His first fat lip!
DJ & Daddy (AND ELMO) watching TV... DJ loves the Elmo shirt and chair!
One night, Don was helping me with a Young Women letter project for Girls Camp... he got out his glasses to help him see the tiny letters while tearing letters out from their stencils...
Well, DJ got a hold of the glasses!
All ready for church!

Las Vegas Wedding: Heading Home!

Bye-bye Las Vegas! This is an aerial shot of the Las Vegas Strip & airport from the airplane.
In this picture, you can see part of the huge bridge that they are building (in the top left corner) so that traffic will no longer go over the top of the dam for safety reasons.
Hoover Dam from the airplane...
You can see the huge bridge in this picture...
Again, the bridge... blurry since I'm really far away from it... but still you get the idea.

An amazing bridge!
A few minutes later, we flew over the Grand Canyon... kind of hard to get a good picture of someting so large!

I was so excited to get home... I missed my boys! This was the first time since DJ was born that I flew with out him... and the longest I'd ever left DJ with Don... so nice to get away... but so nice to get home!

CONGRATS BRIANNE & ROBERT! XOXO
