DJ SINGS! :)

So we've made a habbit of singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Start to DJ every night before he goes to bed... and lately he started 'singing' along! It cracks us up so we start to giggle towards the end... I guess in disbelief that he is old enough to sing along... so then DJ starts giggling too and when finished, he quickly says, "Do it again!?" I LOVE how he says "es-star" like how people who speak spanish pronounce things that have a T near the begining of the word, they always put an ES in front of it... like when I tell people my name in spanish... they repeat back to me Estiffany... I just say yeah! :) DJ's going to be a Spanish speaker! He also says towards the end of this video... "GO MAMA"... he says that when ever we are at a red light... EVEN when Don's driving! LOL DJ brings so much joy!! He's AWESOME!

I'll Tell You Where to Stick It! :)

So... I've done it... officially I'm opening the doors for business! I don't plan to pay the mortgage doing this... but I really enjoy the wood work, designing and having gifts to give people! :)

Making it Official.....

Since I've let some clues out about 'something' in earlier posts and want to create a ticker on the top of my blog for 'something'... it's time to make an official blog post about 'THIS SOMETHING'!
This Kurtz family is expecting a new addition to our family... baby Kurtz is to arrive around March 30th, 2011!
He's in there kickin' back... being a good baby so far when it comes to ultrasounds! We have gotten some great pictures of HIM so far.
"HIM"... so, the sonographer said that there are some 'sticky outy' parts... and that her guess would be a boy! She also said it could go either way at this point since it is early. Personally, I'm going on IT'S A BOY! ...since I found out this early that DJ was going to be a boy and it was right! AWESOME!!!! ...a buddy for DJ!

FLOODING!

Luckily at our house, we are safe from any major issues related to flooding... but houses just 5 minutes from us were being gutted from all the rain!
Here are two pictures that flooded the southbound traffic of the highway right by our house.
This looks like a beautiful sunset at a lake... but really it is about 1-2 feet of water on the highway and a field.
This is a walking bridge across the river right near our house... covered in branches and other debree... it is usually a good 7-10 feet above the river water level.
This picture is taken from the same place as the picture above, just looking in the opposite direction... which is the driving bridge southbound traffic that is flooded just to the left... this driving bridge is also usually 6-10 above the normal river water level.

We LOVE Hawaiian Falls :)

DJ's having a blast playing in the water! Do you think that DJ's swim gear get-up is overkill?? If you do, let me explain...
I tried having him swim with just the floaties and they don't keep his mouth above the water! teehee So this is how we do it at the water park with the vest AND floaties... because there is a lazy river... and with a child that runs off real fast... you can never be over protected!
Don and DJ being lazy in the river.
They are both doing the same pose in this picture.
Walking over to the kids play area... love this!
Have I ever mentioned how much DJ loves water!??
Here's a video of DJ jumping in the water... he sure makes me laugh.
DJ going down the slide.
DJ doing the happy dance! Until next year Hawaiian Falls!

Jim and Janie's Wedding in Oregon!

So here we are at the Heceta Head Lighthouse on the Oregon Coast on Saturday, August 7th... absolutely beautiful! I was just starting the super tired-ness and nausea of this pregnancy (shhh we haven't announced it yet)... so LUCKY DON had the task of keep an eye on DJ... which means chasing DJ around and keeping him from doing things that will hurt him or risk his life. (We were on the side of a beautiful cliff down to the ocean) This also means that Don must put up with a grumpy toddler when he isn't allowed to do things he'd like to do... like climb on cars, trees or go down trails that lead far-far away to dangerous places I'm sure!
First is the beautiful bride Janie! WELCOME TO THE FAMILY! Isn't that view just amazing!
Janie and her girlfriends!
Don's twin brother Dan and his family!
Jana, Judy and I.
Jana goofing around... also Katy and Grandpa.
More chasing DJ around!
DJ posing. Love it!
Beautiful Isabelle... waiting for the wedding to begin.
Grandpa and Jim... waiting for Janie to arrive.
Grandma Judy and Lee.
Jim and Janie... gettin' hitched! What a beautiful day!
Not a dry eye around when Grandpa was saying some very nice things at the reception!
Katy and Isabelle!
More chasing DJ! (yes he was still awake and full of plenty of energy at 8:30pm!)
The misty view of the pretty light house!
Bride and Groom's first dance.
Groom and Mom dance.
The BEAUTIFUL cake.
Cutting the cake.

DJ STILL awake and full of it at 10:30pm!
EATING THE BEAUTIFUL & YUMMY CAKE! :)

Trip to Oregon!

Don's baby brother Jimmy was getting married to the most beautiful Janie... so we headed to Oregon where the wedding was to take place! We were so excited to see all the Aunts, Uncles, cousins and Grandma and Grandpa! Of course our journey began on a flight... with a stop in Denver... we tried to let DJ run around as much as possible in Denver to wear him out for 2 more hours on the rest of our flight into Portland... he LOVED these moving walkways! What a challenge traveling with a toddler... I DO NOT KNOW how people travel with more than one child!
We arrived into Portland... Grandpa Kurtz picked us up at the airport... then went to Uncle Jimmy's place for a quick tour of their house... then Grandma Kurtz met us there to take DJ and I to the beach house! Don and Grandpa stayed back to wait for Dan and family to arrive at the airport. :) We are getting excited and ready for some fun with family!
We rented this beach house that had plenty of room for all of us... and Grandma Kurtz parked her 5th wheel on the side! We took turns making meals... spent a lot of time hanging out as well as getting out and exploring. :)
Uncle Dan and Aunt Janna cooking! Pretty flowers for their anniversary! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY D&J!
Melissa hanging out.
Don working... Melissa goofing around... Grandpa Kurtz taking a cat nap! :)
Allison, Michelle and Isabelle took most of these pictures in the beach house...
They are all going to be pro-photographers when they grow up! :)
DJ, Grandpa and Danny!
DJ and his cousin Allison!
DJ and his cars...
DJ watching Cars!
Everyone in the hot tub!

Here we start pictures of DJ's FIRST TRIP TO THE OCEAN!
Being the fish that he is... DJ LOVED IT!
Notice how we are all bundled up..?? Even though is was the begining of August... in Oregon it was cold and windy which = FREEZING... the water was just as cold! DJ didn't care!
Here are DJ's cousins... NOT getting soaked in the water! :)
Don took several videos of DJ at the beach... these two made me laugh... he just likes to be able to run and run and run.
As soon as we said, look at the water over there... he took off so fast.
Dan, Don, Grandpa, Melissa and Danny went on a fishing trip out of Newport.
They all caught several fish that they brought back and cooked for dinner that night!
Next, we went to the Sea Lion Caves... so neat! You could look over the edge of this look out point and see them basking on the rocks...
Then we walked down this trail to this little building where there was an elevator...
We hopped inside to go down in the caves!
**NOTICE** DJ is holding a red tractor that we bought him at the Sea Lion Caves Gift Store... he had it for about 10 minutes total... before he hucked it off the side of the cliff (pictured above)... never to be seen again! DJ has a bad habbit of throwing stuff. He fussed for Don to go get it. Yeah right!
Here is a photo of inside the caves... pretty neat!
Views to the north. You can see the tiny white buildings of the Heceta Head Lighthouse and Bed and breakfast... where Jim and Janie's wedding took place!
Here is a close up.
Views to the south... so pretty!
Walking down the Sea Lion Caves trails before the tractor was hucked. :)
DJ sitting on the sea lions statue... making a face like them.
While at the beach house... we went on several walks along the beach and tide pools...
Even though it was super chilly... the most important walks were our walks to the awesome ice cream and candy store!
There was this "OLD FASHIONED PHONE BOOTH"... I couldn't resist but ask to see how many could fit inside of it. I was surprised that the kids even knew what this was! ;) haha
So beautiful!
Fun memories!
