I had never done this before and was a little nervous. haha

Once we got to the other side, we saw a school up on stilts... this is very common for houses and other buildings to be built up on high stilts when big storms come to keep them from flooding. :)

When we got back from the ferry ride, we continued to drive south of Galveston to check out the coast a ways down. There were a lot of houses along the beach... all built up high on stilts like the school was. It was interesting to see for sure. I bet it can be scary when a big storm comes through.
